SLR is a listener supported INTERNET radio station that celebrates cultural diversity and is committed to equality, peace and economic justice.

SLR ​provides broadcasts and other forms with a grassroots local emphasis, which promote creative, musical and political vitality.

SLR advocates for peace, social and environmental justice through independent media and programming neglected by mainstream. We embrace diversity, tolerance of others opinions and freedom of expression. SLR celebrates and promotes the creative, cultural political vitality of the the local community.

The​ force that drives this organization is its sense of values, and therefore SLR provides programming that is consistent with those values.

Our music, arts, and cultural programming cover a wide spectrum of expression from traditional to experimental, reflecting the diverse culture we serve. We strive to foster an appreciation of music and cultures we serve. We strive to foster an appreciation of music and culture that is not generally available to listeners around world.

Our news and public affairs programming emphasize controversial, neglected, and non-mainstream points of view on important local as well as well national or world issues, illuminating our values particularly regarding peace, human rights, and environmentalism. We provide access to the airways for individuals and organizations that support ur mission. The statement provides a forum for the gathering, exchange, and transmission of ideas in a cooperative environment that is respectful of each individual’s cultural or political perspective.

Community events also serve as public extension of our programming and mission.

Company policies We are committed to the values expressed by our mission, especially as they relate to issues involving the various ethnic groups living in our community, woman, the economically disadvantaged or challenged, and other groups who may bee disenfranchised in our society. We offer safe haven for expression by members of these groups, regardless of there social status, race, gender, or sexual orientation, and by our activities hope to promote peace, goodwill and a sense of community beyond the walls of this radio station.

The station broadcast (4) four to (6) six days a week, (20) twenty – (30) Thirty plus hour a week.

SLR programming includes a wide range of music, women’s issues, comedy, democracy now, local national and international public affairs, call -in discussions and more.

As part of our mission to educate, every SLR DJ is encouraged to play a variety of musical styles and genres. Rather than segregating music into limited boxes. This philosophy ia an attempt to entertain the listener while broadcasting their musical experience. Pretty fun way to be educated, don’t you think.
